Dear Rich Township High School Alumni, spouses, companions, friends and family,

Did we leave anybody out? We're getting real close now. Enclosed is the latest "around town" magazine plus a handy pocket map of the Strip, which is where the Sahara Hotel is located.

We know that several of you have already booked shows in town for various evenings...which is fine because we are not planning any formal or even semi-formal dinners. We will have the Sahara Penthouse Suite on a 24-hour basis open to all RHS alumni and guests. Come in anytime, day or night .... grab a soda, beer or snack. Three or four fellows will be sharing the suite but they will be able to lock themselves away in their bedrooms so they will not be bothered by any of us visiting the suite night or day.

We would like to collect $20 from each person attending so that we can stock the kitchen with beer, pop, chips, cookies etc. If we do not use all the money, we'll divide it evenly and return same to each of you ... or perhaps we'll do a drawing ...whatever.

Please send a check for $20 for each person , payable to Don Mac Lagan. Bob Chambers, Bob Wainwright and Don will do the shopping and delivery to the suite. We'll probably order pizzas for the suite either Thursday or Friday night. Bob Wainwright will be preparing his world famous meatballs and (Pasta?) plus a big salad for dinner one night as well.

For arrival into Las Vegas  taxis will cost about $12-$14 one way to the Sahara Hotel which is located about 6 miles from the airport. You can take a USA bus to the hotel and returning to McCarran Airport for $7.50 round trip. Busses operate about every 30 minutes and stop at all the strip hotels... Check with Information Desk in Baggage Claim area for specific transportation skeds.

Enclosed also is an interior layout map of the Sahara Hotel. The Penthouse suite is located in the Tunis Tower. All of our rooms are located in the Tangiers Tower.

PPS: Bobby Joe Chambers has compiled the most thorough and accurate list of names, addresses, etc. (a great deal of effort on his part, by the way) which he will share with everyone if he hasn't done so already. Changes and updates to the list can be made at the reunion and then maybe Bob will be kind enough to email that new listing to each of us at a later date. DJM

Dear Rich HS alumni, friends and family,

Don’t look now but it’s almost June. In 3 months there will be a marvelous celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of Rich Township High School.

From that tiny Park Forest Church in 1952, continuing at the new campus in the fall of 1953, the first four year graduating class in June 1956 leads the celebration of our high school years and the friendships which have endured for 50 years.

The memories are endless .... Who can not recall the Sweet Sixteen basketball tournament of 1955 when we almost made it to the top .... Bob Wainwright’s duals on his ’49 Ford thundering and  crackling thru the streets of town.... The Choir’s memorable trip to Washington, New York and the Ed Sullivan Show .... The Junior and Senior Proms .... or dancing with Liz Logrbrink. Oh, such happy thoughts.

Although we agree it would be wonderful to meet in Park Forest and return to the actual sites of our beginnings, we also look at some other meaningful aspects of a reunion. There is no way to put a cap on the late night mingling spirits of a reunion group which invariably encounters complaints of neighboring hotel guests ... except, in a town like Las Vegas.

We have reserved the Penthouse Suite of the Sahara Hotel where we can party and chat and sing and lounge 24 hours a day without interference or complaints from anyone. If you think about it, reunions are mostly about “people” anyhow, not places. We’ll have all day and all night to catch up with so many people we love and love to see again.

So now guys, it’s your turn.  Are you gonna join us for the reunion or will you maybe be the topic of our late night storytelling ... unable to defend why you were caught wearing Sally’s pajamas at that beach party?

Dear Rich High Alumni,  FEB. 2002

Come join us in Las Vegas as we celebrate life and the 50th Anniversary of Rich Township High School. The freshman class of 1952 was the first four year graduating class of Rich Township High School. All classmates  from the 1954 - 1957 graduating classes are welcome to participate.

Mark your calendar for the weekend of September 13, 14, 15 – 2002. Our headquarters will be the Sahara Hotel on the strip in Las Vegas. We have arranged for discounted room rates of $88.00 per night (including 9.1% tax) single or double occupancy. We have 25 rooms reserved for Friday and Saturday nights plus 10 rooms for those wishing to come in Thursday, September 12.

We have obtained the Penthouse Suite for all of our hospitality needs for the weekend. Several of our classmates will be occupying the bedrooms in the suite but the parlors, dining room, balconies and adjacent space is for the rest of us to enjoy and party on a 24 hour basis.

The hotel arrangements are being handled by Reservations Plus , a large volume producer in Las Vegas. (We have family connections) Here’s the way reservations need to be booked.

1. Whether you are staying one, two or three nights, rooms need to be paid for in advance by credit
   card. However, you may change your reservations and/or cancel without penalty up to 72 hours
   before arrival.

2. The easiest way to book your room is to send an ** email to Shawn Wilson.  swilson@pgi.com

  A. Identify yourself as part of the RICH HIGH REUNION GROUP
     B. List your arrival and departure dates.  Example: Arriving Thur., Sept 12 – Departing Sun., Sept 15.
     C. List names of those occupying room:  Mr & Mrs T. Jones  - Sally Jones and Martha Smith
     D. Provide credit card type, number, expiration date and cardholders name.
     E. Provide your name, address, city, state, zip and phone number.

3. You may call 800 824 3742 ( hit extension 2008) to speak with Shawn if you have questions
     about the hotel and/ or the booking process. Remember to identify yourself as part of the RICH
     HIGH REUNION GROUP.

We have yet to organize plans for food and beverage but when we do we will send you a note outlining
our plans. We’ll also be asking for a fee to cover your share of the costs for snacks and beverages in the hospitality suite. We’ll do our best to stock up on everyone’s favorites.

The deadline for hotel reservations is August 2 but don’t delay. Book your room soonest so that
we’ll know how many rooms we need to hold or increase. Remember, you can always change later.
